In 1975, James "Whitey" Bulger, leader of the Irish-American Winter Hill Gang, controls most organized crime within South Boston, along with his right-hand man Stephen Flemmi, newcomer Kevin Weeks, and callous hitman Johnny Martorano. Bulger lives with common-law wife Lindsey Cyr and their young son.

Bulger's supremacy is challenged by the North end Angiulo Brothers, a rival gang, part of the New England Mafia family. FBI agent John Connolly returns to the area; he grew up in South Boston as a friend of Whitey and his brother William "Billy" Bulger, the Massachusetts State Senate President. Connolly tries infiltrating the Angiulo Brothers, and attempts to get Whitey to work with the FBI. Although Whitey hates the idea of being a rat, he understands the protections he would have for himself, his gang, and his family. When the Angiulo Brothers murder a Winter Hill member, Whitey becomes an informant.

Although Connolly is supported by his co-worker John Morris, their boss, Charles McGuire, is suspicious. Whitey increasingly exploits the FBI informant relationship, using Connolly's "protection" as a cover for his crimes. Connolly demands information on the Angiulos' racketeering locations. Finally, Whitey gets pictures of the rival gang's hideouts, allowing the FBI to wiretap the Angiulos. The FBI arrests them, thus eliminating underground opposition to Whitey's power. Connolly, blinded by his past, grows closer to Whitey and the gang, even inviting them to his house for a cookout. His wife, Marianne, sees negative changes in her husband as his agent-informant relationship with Whitey grows.

Maura Ellis (Amy Poehler) is told by her parents (Dianne Wiest and James Brolin) that they are planning to sell their home in Orlando, and asked to come and clean out the things from her childhood bedroom. Her parents also ask that she tell her sister, Kate (Tina Fey), because she does not take bad news well. 

The next morning, the sisters are awoken by the new homeowners coming to see the house in order to begin to plan all of the things they want to change when to move in, and tell them that the home needs to be in perfect condition in order for the sale to go through, causing great distress to Maura and Kate. Moving forward with their plans to host a party, Kate and Maura go through and invite most of their friends from high school, excluding Brinda (Maya Rudolph) whom Kate hates. The sisters go shopping in order to prepare for the night. While shopping for decorations, they have a run-in with Brinda, who is upset about not being invited.

Following Garreth Mallory's promotion to M, on a mission in Mexico City unofficially ordered by a posthumous message from the previous M, 007 James Bond kills three men plotting a terrorist bombing during the Day of the Dead and gives chase to Marco Sciarra, an assassin who survived the attack. the '00' section, believing it to be outdated.

Bond disobeys M's order and travels to Rome to attend Sciarra's funeral. That evening he visits Sciarra's widow Lucia, who tells him about Spectre, a criminal organisation to which her husband belonged. Bond infiltrates a Spectre meeting, where he identifies the leader, Franz Oberhauser. When Oberhauser addresses Bond by name, he escapes and is pursued by Mr. Hinx, a Spectre assassin. Moneypenny informs Bond that the information he collected leads to Mr. White, former member of Quantum, a subsidiary of Spectre. Bond asks her to investigate Oberhauser, who was presumed dead years earlier.

The two travel to the hotel and discover White's secret room where they find co-ordinates pointing to Oberhauser's operations base in the desert. They travel by train to the nearest station, but are once again confronted by Hinx; they engage in a fight throughout the train in which Mr Hinx is eventually thrown off the train by Bond with Swann's assistance.

In Atlanta, James (Ice Cube) is with his partner Mayfield (Tyrese Gibson) as they try to infiltrate a car meet to find a drug dealer named Troy (Glen Powell). Ben (Kevin Hart), fresh out the academy, is eager to get in on the action, but James has him staying on the radio. James gets close enough to Troy, but Troy pulls a gun on him. Ben sees this over the camera and sneaks out to help. He rides into the meet in a showy car with hydraulics and draws unwanted attention to himself. He tries to threaten Troy by acting tough, only to drop his badge in front of the crook, leading to Troy making his escape. James and Ben go after him, with Ben nearly getting himself run over, though James follows Troy long enough until Troy drives out of a parking garage and onto another car. James arrests Troy and swipes a necklace around him that is also a flash drive.

Rocky gets a call from the handlers of world light heavyweight champion "Pretty" Ricky Conlan, who is due to be forced into retirement by an impending prison term. He offers to make Donnie his final challenger—provided that he change his name to Adonis "Hollywood Donnie" Creed. Donnie balks at first, wanting to forge his own legacy. However, he eventually agrees.

Plot[edit]

In 1823, a quasi-military hunting party of trappers hunt for pelts in the unsettled wilderness of the Louisiana Purchase under the command of Andrew Henry. When they are ambushed by the Arikara Native Americans, a third of the party escapes on a boat. At the recommendation of Hugh Glass, a hunter with knowledge of the area and natives, they abandon the raft and begin the journey back to Fort Kiowa on foot. The decision is not welcomed by all, particularly John Fitzgerald, who distrusts Glass's half-native son Hawk. Glass stumbles upon and is badly mauled by a grizzly bear wildly defending her cubs. The party discover him close to death and carry him on a makeshift stretcher. Fitzgerald argues that Glass will not survive his injuries and that they should kill him to speed their journey. Unable to kill him, Henry offers payment for several men to stay behind with him instead. Fitzgerald, Hawk and the young Jim Bridger volunteer. Henry has Fitzgerald promise to stay with Glass until he dies and give him a proper burial.

Hawk discovers Fitzgerald smothering Glass. A struggle ensues and Fitzgerald kills Hawk while Glass helplessly watches. When Bridger returns, Fitzgerald tells him he saw the Arikara nearby and that they must abandon Glass. Bridger hesitates but flees with Fitzgerald, leaving Glass in a makeshift grave with his canteen. Glass regains consciousness, crawls out of the grave and walks through the woods for days, haunted by visions of his deceased Native wife. He escapes the Arikara, whose chief is searching for his kidnapped daughter Powaqa, by floating down rapids. Bridger realizes that Fitzgerald lied, but Fitzgerald intimidates him into silence. When they arrive at Fort Kiowa, Fitzgerald tells Henry that Glass succumbed to his wounds and that they lost Hawk, who was most likely attacked by the Arikara. Henry pays Fitzgerald his reward, but Bridger refuses payment.
